Art Institution

Sisters Academy is equally rooted in performance art, research, pedagogy and activism. In every country we are working with a model where we have respectively a partnering upper secondary school, an art institution and research institution. The students of the involved art institution follow us into to academy as substitute teachers. The purpose is both to have more performers to amplify the performance-universe intervening the school and to inspire the everyday staff of the institution engaged in activating their poetic selves whilst experimenting with their teachings in completely new ways. But it is also to inspire the art students to think more entrepreneurial about their discipline and see how it can be used in different contexts and with different purposes without compromising artistically.
